Making Of Non-Standard Music for Haruomi Hosono’s 1984 album Haruomi Hosono Presents Making Of Non-Standard Music. As Hauruomi Hosono is an eclectic artist, that was a reason to use a large number of sources and typefaces.

Cercle magazine nº7, “Volcanoes”

Pilowlava has been specially created by Jérémy Landes and Anton Moglia for Cercle magazine nº7 about volcanoes, the main topic of the annual magazine in 2019. Pilowlava is used for cover, openers, titles of the interviews, and quotes.

A spread at the end of the magazine is dedicated to the font creation and how the designers have been inspired by the “volcanoes” theme. The standard typefaces used for the magazine are Wigrum and ITC Esprit. Read and see more images on the websites of Cercle magazine and Velvetyne Type Foundry.

Songs For Kenzie Volume Six”

Cover, interior card, and labels for a mixtape the author send their girlfriend girlfriend Kenzie for her birthday. ¨ I’ve started to see these tape covers as a space to experiment with new ways to present basically the same content: the volume number and a list of artists & songs. The small size typically prevents me from getting too wild with it, but Velvetyne’s Pilowlava, a display font with goofy weirdness baked right in, ended up feeling perfect for the job.¨
